The Congress Program are COOL! Anyhow, the fees for the congress meeting for student is high, while yet include our acc. and travel flight. Hopefully our team for the student competition able to be the finalist and to be sponsored to join this meaningful event.

When will the result of the IFHP student competition be announced?
#4: 22 September 2007, 12:26, by: danieL
Should the shortlisted top 10 of the competition entries be announced on net or on blog before the final is out?

Hi, I would like to ask 2 questions related to the studentsCompetitionExibition, very directly: _Why did you print some works(panels) in a smaller size than the original one that have been submited?(most of this works are impossible to read due to the size that have been printed) _Dont you think that is a disrespect for the students work?and also by consequence for themselves? BestRegards

when are the results going to be published? there is nothing on the internet...
#7: 25 September 2007, 06:17, by: Jun

#10: 25 September 2007, 10:10, by: disRispect
the results have been anouced yesterday...and if none of you have been at the ceremony, believe me you havent been one of the awardeds...because they were told personally before the awards ceremony so their trips to copenhagen could be paid by the ifhpOrganization...so i supose the results have been told directly to the awardeds last week..and have been announced for an "oscar" ceremony yesterday...but as i said if your not directly told you havent been awarded...but read post nbr#5...that is important(concerning to the exibition)...
#11: 25 September 2007, 10:17, by: completely disRespect
there were: 1 fist prize 3 second prizes and 7 honour mentions ..................................................... In relation to the exibition:i still dont understand why a BIG PART of the panels were printed in a very small size and the rest was printed in a normal size...and they are at the exibition just like that...some works you cant read anything...you cant understand them...its like asking for a panel and them print a post-card!!!you go see by your-self if you can if not believe me i am in copenhagen at the student congress...so i saw...i feel myself disrespected. And i feel that there was no respect for the students work...
#12: 25 September 2007, 10:30, by: Lee
Anybody who attended it will be nice if you able to list the list of winner accordingly so we can view their works on net. thanks.
#13: 25 September 2007, 12:14, by: Bryan
That sucks that they reprinted a whole load of the projects at such a small scale...all that effort for so little exposure. Does anyone have any photos from the exhibition that they could possibly email to me. bryan.cush@gmail.com Just curious to see what the setup was like. Also as someone else posted, could someone please let us know who the winners were and maybe we can find their project in the online submissions. Cheers guys
#14: 25 September 2007, 12:49, by: JJ
Exhibition with a smaller size will be unfair to the participants where the display eventually not able to visualize the end product of the entries in total. as this will results a unfair situation on the efforts and as if the participants of the competition who didn't manage to answer calls or attend the congress meeting there is that mean they will disqualified from it? Should respect the entries as well as the display for exhibition. Sad to see that.
#15: 25 September 2007, 14:40, by: aldr
yeah i saw also there that there are persons that submitted two projects...how can that be? and also that there are some works that dont respect the maximum size limit...while others have been printed in a very short size.So unfair!!! and also i have noticed that there are a lot of projects with explanatoryBooklets, but was only asked for a A4 explanatory text and not booklets...and what about the ones that had the booklets but didnt delivered them because it was not a requirement?
#16: 25 September 2007, 14:48, by: dR
1st_trawling city 3nd_deWeb plane neighbourhood-tradition kept alive _reload the floating city _paris tout a tour honourable mentions: _eleonas olive grove _biopolis _textile house integrated with residential structure in porto _a micro community solving global problems _a 50s cadillac automobile working museum, havana, cube _harbor/harbor _the transformation towards a "happy village" that are the results...since the organization doesnt have the good sense to put them online.

"Hard copies Rolled or folded printed hardcopies are to be forwarded to Copenhagen, with a separate diagram indicating how and in what sequence the illustrations and the text should be mounted and displayed. Remember to include an entry form with the package." "CD-ROM Format = High-resolution PDF (preferred) or JPEG 300 dpi. This resolution is to apply to the full size of the final submission (i.e. 100 cm x 100 cm or 100 cm x 200 cm)." "Illustrations (mono– or polychromatic) and accompanying text are to be presented and displayed on a poster layout within the following framework (see layout guidelines): a. minimum: 100 cm x 100 cm b. maximum: 100 cm x 200 cm" is it me or there is something wrong...because that is on the competition_submissionEssentials...check for yourself: http://www.ifhp2007copenhagen.dk/Student%20Competition/Competition%20Brief/Submission%20Guidelines.aspx

Seems the selected are into certain sense of similarity, but applicable with the theme in year 2030? Anyhow. all did very well. Good Job!

yea... do agree.., year 2030 is something to be think about, consider about where is must situaiton besides issues to be tackled. "futures of cities" not future "future cities" in virtual and reality. But do the organiser really taking account of the existing and validate of issues pointed out by the competitors?

there are at the exibition some works that are oversized!some have almost 3 meters wide. And others have 70 cms wide...Is that fair?i think its really frustrating...
#26: 26 September 2007, 00:46, by: jisper
if you were lucky your work has been printed out in the original size...if not your efforts finished on a "post-card"size...do you feel lucky?
#27: 26 September 2007, 05:17, by: Interested Public
I agree with some of the sentiments expressed here - where is the results of the competition? The students have spent a lot of time submitting their work and all they get is silence. It is not that difficult given that you have everything on this sit. It is not just about only informing the winners. A quick, short email to all participants thnaking them for their effort would have been sufficient.
#28: 26 September 2007, 05:29, by: anti-climax
an excellent international student competition but letting the students down badly with their silence.
#29: 26 September 2007, 07:44, by: Seb
Umm yes, some word from the organizer would be much appreciated.
#30: 26 September 2007, 09:38, by: JJ
Organizer should send over some complimantary for those entries members for their good respones in the competition and as well as the efforts putting on as the appreciation of to make the event happen. regards.
#31: 26 September 2007, 13:06, by: jisper
the jury said: "we had a very high quality on the responses this year"...so i can complement: yeah, the students works are really high quality in general, but that doesnt mean that the exibition is high quality. Mainly because it has not corresponded to that quality of the responses.regards
#32: 26 September 2007, 13:09, by: dR
interested Public_see post #16...i have posted the results there.Since the organization "doent have the time to do it".
#33: 26 September 2007, 22:06, by: oks
the organization sucks... i never saw such iresponsability!
#34: 26 September 2007, 22:58, by: JJ
all the unfair things happen how to convince people to enter the future competitions of it? it need to be think about it. or else it ends here.
#35: 26 September 2007, 23:10, by: Jun
"futures of cities" not "future cities" pls take note. year 2030 what will going to happen. the issues the fact need to be validate as the consideration of a total view should be there rather then just a imaginary design structure floating which away from land. why don't in the sky, in the space and galaxy? think about it for 2030.
#36: 27 September 2007, 15:13, by: mpm
#37: 28 September 2007, 13:03, by: Peder Duelund Mortensen, Host of the IFHP Student Competition and member of the Jury
We are very sorry that you had to wait two days for the competition results being published on the web. Retrospective, it would offcause had been better that the results where accessible September 25th and not September 27th, but you also have to have in mind that we are a very few people both organising the Student Congress and Competition. We received 193 projects in the competition, which is twice as much as any prior IFHP Student Competition. We would like to stress, that all of the projects are displayed on the excibition. Out of the 193 projects, 80 projects used the oppitunity to send the poster only digitally. The jury did work on the digital material and the models as well, so all have been treated equal. For the exhibition, we have done a printing of those projects not delivering a printed poster – due to the great number of entries in 50% size = generally 1m wide. Original printed material is also presented. As you have seen, we have used all the table capacity we could arrange in the hall. The alternative was only to show the awarded project or in other way to make a reduction of the displayed material. So I as well as the jury and the IFHP board have all expressed, that they are very pleased by the quality of the exhibition. I agree, that a few can be difficult to read, but we are on the other hand for the first time in the history of IFHP student Competition working on the possibilities´for all to publish their projects on the web. Some of you also wanted to know, prior to the award ceremony, who where nominatet. We are sorry, but that was confidential information, which nobody could give before the award ceremony presented the results.
#38: 29 September 2007, 23:12, by: disRespect
does that explain that some persons submited 2 diferent f«projects for the competition?what a coincidence the winners submited 2 projects...be more acurate when you define your guidelines...and dont say one thing one day and a diferent one in the future...
#39: 29 September 2007, 23:16, by:
with that i mean: dont say one thing at the begining of the competition and other after the results...and i also would like to ask why is that a big amount of models dont respect the size that was asked?i saw some big models there...and they are not build on parts...
